Built by a Family Who's Lived It

    We're a family-owned home care agency with a perspective most others don't have—because we've lived this ourselves.

Our owner, Michael Hawkins, is a service-disabled veteran who developed brain cancer as a result of toxic exposure during military service. The treatment saved his life—but left him physically disabled and fully dependent on the care of others.

That experience changed how we see home care. We understand how humbling it is to need help, how vulnerable it feels to accept it, and how important dignity, trust, and control are in the process.

After more than 20 years of military service, Michael set out to continue serving—this time in a profession where integrity, accountability, and care for others truly mattered. Together with his wife, Natalie, who leads our client relationships and is often the first voice families hear, they built Interim Home Care around one clear belief: families deserve dependable support without pressure, loss of dignity, or loss of control.

During Michael's recovery, their daughter Alissa stepped in to help carry the responsibility of leadership and now oversees day-to-day operations—ensuring continuity, accountability, and a standard of care that reflects their family's values.

Today, Interim Home Care is led by a family who understands both sides of care—the responsibility of providing it and the humility of needing it. That lived experience shapes every decision we make.

"My mother was not an easy case. She was active, independent, and deeply resistant to being managed — even as her mind declined. What Interim figured out was that you don't fight that. You work with it. They built a care schedule around who she actually was, not who would have been easier to care for. She passed away at home eighteen months later, comfortable and on her own terms. That's what I promised her. Interim helped me keep it."

"I chose the registered nurse option specifically because I hold a high standard for everything in my life and I wasn't going to lower it for this. Interim understood that without me having to explain it. When I needed care a second time, the decision took about thirty seconds."

"We'd been through one agency that let us down badly. I came into this conversation skeptical. What I found was a team that understood exactly what we were trying to protect — not just my mother's safety, but her identity. She lived the last years of her life in her own home, on her own terms. That's not something I take lightly."
