INTERIM HOME CARE UTAH
Inside Home Care Utah: What to Expect

If you've never used home care before, here's what the process actually looks like, start to finish, so you're not walking in blind.
The First Call
A first call is usually a conversation, not a sales pitch — what's going on with your loved one, what kind of help they need, and an honest read on caregiver availability and timing for your specific area. In our core territory (Salt Lake City and the surrounding valley), that timeline is often days, not weeks; in lower-availability areas, we'll tell you that plainly too.
The Assessment
Before care starts, most agencies do some form of in-home or phone assessment to understand the actual daily routine, safety concerns, and preferences — not just a generic checklist, but a real picture of what a typical day looks like and where the gaps are.
Matching a Care Professional
Fit matters as much as skill — personality, communication style, and specific experience (dementia care, mobility support, whatever's relevant) all factor into who gets matched to your family. A good agency will adjust the match if the first fit isn't right, rather than treating the first assignment as final.
What a First Week Typically Looks Like
Expect some adjustment on both sides — your loved one getting used to a new person in their space, and the Care Professional learning the specific routines and preferences that make care actually feel personal rather than generic. Most families see this settle within the first week or two.
What to Actually Expect Cost-Wise
Home care is billed hourly, based on how many hours a week your family needs — our own investment runs $25 to $42 an hour depending on the specifics of your situation, not a flat statewide rate.
Our Coverage Across Utah
We serve Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Layton, Lehi, Davis County, Weber County, Summit County, Wasatch County, Tooele County, and Provo/Utah County. See detailed coverage by area.
Our 7th Week Guarantee
No long contracts. If you don't feel the difference after six weeks of care at 20 or more hours a week, your seventh week is free.
