INTERIM HOME CARE UTAH
How Much Does 24 Hour Home Care Cost?

Before pricing this out, it's worth knowing that "24-hour care" usually means one of two very different staffing models — and the difference changes the cost significantly.
Live-In Care vs. 24/7 Shift Care
Live-in care typically means one or two Care Professionals rotating to cover a full week, living in the home during their shifts, with built-in rest periods overnight when the person they're caring for is generally sleeping too. This is usually the more affordable version of "24-hour coverage."
24/7 shift care means someone is actively awake and providing care around the clock, in shifts, with no built-in overnight rest period for the caregiver. This is more staffing-intensive and costs meaningfully more than live-in care, since it requires more total hours billed.
What Actually Drives the Total Cost
Since care is billed hourly, the total comes down to which of these two models fits your situation, plus the base hourly rate. Our own investment runs $25 to $42 an hour depending on your family's specific situation — a live-in arrangement multiplies that rate by roughly a day's worth of coverage per Care Professional, while 24/7 shift care multiplies it by every actual hour worked.
Which Model Actually Fits Your Situation
Live-in care works well when someone is relatively safe overnight and mainly needs supervision and help during waking hours, with reassurance that someone's present if something happens at night.
24/7 shift care is the right fit when someone needs active, awake supervision around the clock — significant fall risk, wandering, or medical needs requiring monitoring through the night.
Getting a Real Number
A generic online calculator can't tell you which model your family actually needs, let alone the real cost. The fastest way to get an accurate figure is a direct conversation about your specific situation.
Our 7th Week Guarantee
No long contracts. If you don't feel the difference after six weeks of care at 20 or more hours a week, your seventh week is free.
